Fourteen-year-old Regan has always been content to be towed behind the stronger personalities surrounding her--her beautiful and talented sister Kim, her wild and pregnant best friend Shelby, and her flighty and contentious single-mother who barely keeps her household afloat.
When Kim is diagnosed with lymphoma and swept into aggressive treatment, Regan is cut adrift and forced to decide what kind of girl she will be on her own. With so many distractions--boys, sex, drugs, and the hormones that complicate them all--she chooses to be caught up in the net of oblivion and misses out on the most important experience of her life.
